The company ZEG (Zweirad-Einkaufs-Genossenschaft) has launched a new and innovative accessories system: MonkeyLink. Our client SKS Germany is one of the partners in this system and suggested us as a design office with enough relevant experience, knowledge and capacity to handle the development of this system. A great compliment for us , and a great role in a special project.

MonkeyLink opens up a new world of connected accessories

MonkeyLink comprises a whole range of accessories: handlebar stems, front and back lights, mud guards and seatpost clamps. The magnetic click system with mechanical locking, which is fixed to the stem and the seatpost clamp, forms the basis of the system. In an instant you can click or release your accessories. The click system is directly connected to the bike battery, which is convenient for bike lights. We also designed an innovative mud guard with integrated light that is also connected to the battery. All MonkeyLink accessories are managed via the E-bike display, which means you’ll never have to dismount to switch the light on or off again.

From designer to having a key role: this is what we do best

We designed all the accessories for MonkeyLink – an exciting job with beautiful results. What was important besides our experience, expertise and design quality, however, was the fact that we are able to crank up the rate of development. We integrate designers and engineers in one team from the start to guarantee the technical solution and feasibility and so we do not have to compromise on the design.

We make many models and prototypes in our own model shop to make our ideas literally tangible and test them at lightning speed. At the presentations of the prototypes, all parties came together, and important choices and alignments were made. The quality of our models always exceeded the expectations of all parties. Thanks to the many years of pleasant cooperation with SKS, our designers and engineers at ZEG often only needed a few words to understand each other.

MonkeyLink has advantages for the dealer as well as the user

The MonkeyLink system is freely available to all manufacturers of e-bikes. For the dealer, the advantage is that the client’s wishes can be accommodated flexibly; with the MonkeyLink, accessories can be added simply and without extra assembly time. For the user, MonkeyLink is an elegant, handy and also safe solution. From now on, all ZEG group e-mountainbike brands, such as Bulls, Kettler and Hercules, will be delivered MonkeyLink-ready. There is a version for regular bikes too.

New products

New products have been added to the MonkeyLink series: The ML-SkyeLights. This lighting set can be attached to the bicycle in seconds with the MonkeyLink magnetic holder. The headlight has a K-reflector with daytime running lights and high beam function and is adjustable in angle. The rear light is equipped with a brake light.
